Crynoch Ceilidh Band brings lively Scottish dance music to your celebrations. We create unforgettable experiences through our performances.
From weddings to corporate events, our band offers a diverse repertoire for every occasion.
The Crynoch Ceilidh Band was born in January 2017 bringing together musicians who had played together previously from time to time with the desire to have all band members within Aberdeenshire. The new band was Ian Thomson (accordion), Rob Ross (accordion), Willie Johnstone (fiddle), Ann Thomson (keyboard), Scott Gordon (drums) and on recordings and special events Brian Cruickshank (bass). We wanted to push live music in the Aberdeenshire area (and beyond) and create a new lively sound based on the traditions of dance bands of previous years but with modern arrangements, and new compositions mixed with old standards.
All members are award winning, with both Rob and Scott being previous Scottish champions on the accordion, and Ian’s previous band having won the band section at an NAAFC festival. Ann, Willie and Brian have recorded and broadcast with many other bands through the years.
